Position: Technician-Engineer
Location: Southampton, UK
Job description
* Conduct on-site failure verification and testing for range of Seagate disc drives at nominated customer site.
* Monitor quality trends, highlight potential problem areas and report to team.
* Record and report all data relating to the failure verification activity in a timely and accurate manner.
* Be responsible for fulfilling the logistical requirement for reporting and movement of goods within and without the customer's premises.
* Test and analyse drives at office laboratory in Marlow.
* Manage inventory of drives in Seagate's office lab.
* Maintain and repair test equipment as required.
* Act as point-person for engineering team on matters relating to drive-testing and equipment.
* Willing to travel to Seagate or customer locations as required.
Qualifications
Required
* Education level : Technical Engineering Qualification, HNC/HND, City and Guilds
* Experience in a similar position, preferably in a Technology company.
* Good organisational and technical skills
* Must be able to work unattended and achieve pre-set and agreed objectives
* Good communication skills.
